Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

This is a little Italian place that has sandwiches, pizza, pasta and more. They serve wine and beer. It is fast, quaint and very delicious food. I love the experience and the food. Would recommend it highly if flying out of Omaha or staying at a nearby hotel.

Our hotel recommended this place. I was hesitant because of the quantity of yelp reviews plus when I dialed the yelp phone number it was disconnected and I thought the place went out of business. (712) 841-0371 is the number in yelp, google has it as (712) 847-0371. The yelp number is wrong. I had the California Chicken, $10.95 and not on the menu. It was delicious, and after finishing agree with the 2012 award they received. Most if not all entrees come with a salad or soup, dinner roll and soft drink. Not a bad price. Give this place a try.

Decent spot for a quick lunch. I normally go for the grilled chicken salad with a tasty vinaigrette dressing, served with a very yummy sourdough dinner roll and real butter not margarine, which is always a plus. Other entrees, such as pizza and pastas are meh, although they are generously portioned, another plus. 3 stars for the chicken salad and dinner rolls.

Combination pizza was good. Ingredients were fresh and tasty just not a Wow! Pizza. I said this in the pictures I posted but it has to be said again. I've been traveling for 17 years and have had tons of pizza in many, many cities but this delivered pizza steamed when I opened the box. Never, ever has that happened before. I almost gave 4 stars just because of how hot it was when it got to my hotel room. Decided to give my honest "flavor" rating instead. DO NOT order the cheese bread. Couldn't eat it, threw it away. If you want a good pizza delivered hot, order from here.

This could be a bit of a biased review as I have loved this place since 1990. They have a very large menu of pizza, pasta, sandwiches & salads. You will find something you will enjoy! Best sour dough rolls & pizza crust and their Alfredo sauce is in beatable.

Tremendous amount of food for each portion. Spaghetti and meatballs were great, pasta with peas and pancetta was a bit bland and very rich. You have to order at the counter but the staff delivers food to the table.

I had a pizza delivered to my hotel. It was very good. The crust was crunchy but chewy. The toppings were fresh ( I had the four cheese red with added mushrooms and basil) I loved it! I also ordered one of the sourdough rolls. Meh. I definitely recommend the pizza!

We LOVE the Saddle Creek location of Sgt Peffers. Since I work in CB and sometimes in Carter Lake, I was so excited to hear that they were opening a new location here. There is not much in Carter Lake in terms of restaurants. If you ever want to go out to lunch, your main selection is the Subway in the gas station heading back to Omaha. I think Sgt Peffers did a great job of renovation. I'm not sure what the place was in the past, but it looks nice and the dining room is clean and open. I've been impressed with the good service. You never know about a place, even if the service is good at the other location, if the boss isn't around, service can slip. It hasn't here. Every time I've been in, everyone has been super friendly and nice. The one thing I hadn't really tried at the Saddle Creek location was soup. When I first came in, I took a couple coworkers. I had told them all the stuff I like and they chose soup. I said I can't guarantee the soup is any good and then I decided to get the soup. It was amazing. I've tried several of the other soups and they are all so good. And I didn't realize they are homemade daily (the server told me that.) Pizza, pasta, rolls and chicken salad same quality as the Saddle Creek location. They all rock!!

Not bad. I go back again. Portions were huge like others have said. I'll have pizza next time it looked very good. This time I had chicken salad and the pepperoni cheese bread good sauce and a pepperoni pizza bread.

Reviewing as I eat. Time to kill before picking up wife at Eppley Field so found this on Yelp. Very quaint. Ordered at register. Got salad and big delicious roll immediately. Ordered Sherry Cream Mushroom pasta. Not coming out too quickly which means it hasn't been sitting in a pan under heat lamp all day!! Good !! Great menu with 12 kinds of pizza and 13 pasta dishes and 11 baked pasta dishes. 15 sandwiches, 8 baked chicken casseroles, 7 baked seafood casseroles. A lunch menu with. 6 items under 7.75. Can substitute rice for pasta for gluten free. They have kids menu with 4 choices. Food came and it passed my most important test--it's hot , smoking hot. Very nice helping with lots of mushrooms!! Sauce is thick and totally covers pasta. DELICIOUS OUTSTANDING. Has a little bite to it which I like. Ok. Gave Sgt Peffers 5 stars and I'm usually pretty tough. Do it and thank me later.

Very good menu. From soups salads pasta and sandwiches. Have not had a bad meal here yet. Friendly staff keeps the place bussed well. Have not tried a sandwich yet but loved everything from soup pasta salads and pizza.

Quite place just opened in Carter Lake. We got the combo and pepperoni pizzas. Both were delicious. Service is so so and for some reason they only had two pitchers so we could only serve our party of 14 was two choice drinks at a time.

We were their first customers on Sunday afternoon. We watched as people who came in after us were brought their meals. My friend spoke up and said, "hey, we have food, too." After waiting half an hour, the waitress came to us and said she would check on ours. She did and I heard the guy in back say they didn't see our order. I got the chicken quatroformaggi and I thought it was really bland and tasteless. I added salt and pepper but finally decided to pack it up and bring it home to add my own ingredients to it. We don't plan to go back any time soon even though the other meals were better than mine. They offered us no compensation for their screwup.

We were going to the airport and needed food. Downtown Omaha was too busy with an event. This place was pretty good, good flavors just not great. Reminded us of a DQ with Italian. It was served quickly but not hot. The portions were large. The wine glass generously filled. Ok in a pinch. Pizza might have been a better choice.

Stuck by the airport in Omaha and looking for food? Not many choices, but this is one to go out of your way for. I had linguini w/ white clam sauce. Perfect!

Staying at airport hotel for early morning flight, this restaurant was recommended. Ordered manicotti and salad for delivery. Excellent pasta, quick delivery, great prices!!

This place is tasty! I would recommend the five cheese white pizza, one of the best pizzas I've ever had. If I didn't have any self control I'd be a fat man because of this place. ;)

This location of the locally owned Sgt. Peffer's family opened just a couple weeks ago and has turned into the Go To for our work! There isn't much for lunch in the North of Downtown area, so this 11th & Locust location is so welcome! The soups are scratch-made deliciousness, and the pizza is award winning for a reason! I just got a recommendation to try one of the seafood pastas, and plan to next week! Thanks for coming to the Carter Lake area, guys!
